FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up a successful weekend defeating Monmouth University and setting three new program meter records. The men won by a score of 201-78 and the women took down the Hawks 213-58.
The women started off the meet with a 200 Meter Medley Relay win as
Kristin Kunnapas,
Victoria Krivitsky,
Morgan Hansen, and
Maria Nitti finished with a time of 2:05.08. The women continued their success into the next event as
Haleigh McLaughlin won the 800 Meter Freestyle with a time of 9:33.02 and won the 400 Meter Freestyle (4:44.71).
Sara Ostensen took home the win in the 200 Meter Freestyle clocking in at 2:12.03 while
Juliana Lally won the 100 Meter Backstroke (1:10.95).
Victoria Krivitsky also won the 100 Meter Breaststroke in 1:16.84.
Sarah Herbold set a new program record in the 200 Meter Butterfly with a time of 2:24.03 surpassing the old record of 2:26.33 set by Cacky Keating back in 2010. Herbold also won the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:00.32) and the 100 Meter Butterfly (1:06.32).
Maria Nitta came in first place in the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of 28.11 and
Rachel Landry won the 200 Meter Backstroke (2:31.40).
Colleen Young also tallied a win in the 200 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 2:43.79.
The women's 200 Meter Freestyle Relay team made up of
Maria Nitti,
Kelly Cordes,
Sarah Herbold, and
Sara Ostensen set a new program record with their time of 1:51.90 eclipsing the previous record of 1:52.15 set in 2009.
On the men's side, Phil Zyskowski tallied the first of his three wins for the Stags as he notched a final time of 9:05.46 in the 800 Meter Freestyle. He then won the 200 Meter Butterfly (2:17.85) and the 100 Meter Freestyle (54.92).
Jordan Rahurahu won three events starting with the 200 Meter Freestyle clocking in at 1:58.84. He then took home the win in the 100 Meter Butterfly (58.75) and the 200 Meter IM (2:17.89).
Nicholas Tsigas clocked in at 4:27.93 to win the 400 Meter Freestyle.
Benjamin Kebbell continued the record setting day for the Stags as he set a new program record in the 100 M Backstroke with a time of 59.07 surpassing the prior record of 59.98 set in 2014 by Connor Daly. Kebbell also won the 200 Meter Backstroke (2:12.91) and came in second in the 50 Meter Freestyle.
Kebbell,
Ian Nelson, Zyskowski, and Rahurahu also won the 200 Meter Freestyle Relay with a final time of 1:38.58.

The Stags will return to the pool when they travel to Providence, RI on Saturday, November 4 to take on Providence College at 1 p.m.
