HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Fairfield University Women's Tennis battled hard through every set this Saturday on a humid October afternoon but fell to Hofstra by a count of 6-1.
 
Jessica Pil tallied the lone match win on the day with an impressive defeat of Odessa Stork by a score of 6-0, 6-4.
 
"I thought we competed hard against a talented team," said Head Coach Jeff Bricker. "We need to continue to work on the practice courts but we continue to move in the right direction." 
 
The Stags will play at the ITA Northeast Regional on October 18-22 in Philadelphia and will then travel to Newark, N.J. for the NJIT Fall Invitational to finish their fall slate of competition.
