FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women's tennis team dropped to crosstown rival Sacred Heart, 7-0, on Monday afternoon.
In doubles play, the No. 3 duo of Gabriella Campos and Meghan Ziegler picked up a 6-3 victory. While the first and second spots fell 6-2 and 6-1 respectively.
In singles action, all six matches went just two sets. Nicole Aragones fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1. Karen McKeough played at the second spot falling 6-2, 6-0. Campos at third dropped 6-0, 6-1. In the remaining three spots, Courtney Connors lost 6-3, 6-2, Cecilia Parla lost 6-1, 6-0, and Ziegler lost 6-2, 6-3.
The women will be back on the courts on Saturday, April 16 at Siena for their final road match of the season.
