FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Friends of Fairfield University Men's and Women's Tennis kicked off the month in style. Parents, alumni and family made up the group of over 45 guests as the program hosted its inaugural Friends of Tennis Round Robin Brunch on October 1, 2016. Special guests included the 1992 Men's MAAC Champions and the 1993 Women's MAAC Champions, securing the first-ever conference championship for each program.

"It was great to have our alumni back on campus this past weekend and to celebrate the accomplishments of the 1992 men's and 1993 women's MAAC Championship teams" noted Head Coach Jeff Bricker. "For our current players to be able to get out on the court and play some points with the alumni was a special treat as well."

Honorary guests included Mrs. Patricia Grassi M'73, who accepted a posthumous award on behalf of her late husband and former Men's Tennis Coach Joseph 'Doc' Grassi. Following the event alumni, student-athletes and parents reconvened at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts for a friendly round-robin match.
