Swimming and Diving Visit The Red Foxes

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams will head to MAAC foe Marist on Friday night. The meet is set to begin at 6:00 pm.

The women earned their second victory of the season their last time out as they topped Holy Cross 189-111. The men's team was narrowly edged by Holy Cross 155-144.

Kelly Mulligan and Daniel Pires were each recognized by the MAAC as they were named the Women's Swimmer of the Week and the Men's Diver of the Week, respectively.

Mulligan led the way posting three individual victories for the Stags. She finished first in the 100y backstroke, 200y backstroke, and 200 IM. Pires scored the highest in both diving events with scores of 289.80 and 287.10 in the 1 and 3-meter dive respectively. The junior has won both diving events in each of the last three meets for the Stags.

Last time in the pool, the Red Foxes fell to Fordham. Shannon Gordon finished first in the 1000y freestyle and Bethany Powhida posted the fastest time in the 200y backstroke. Ryan Murphy took the top spot in the 200y freestyle while Josh Dodway placed first in both of the diving events.

After Friday, Fairfield's next contest will be the Terrier Invitational that will start on Friday, November 22.
