FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Junior Daniel Pires posted the top scores in both of the events on Sunday at the Blue Devil Diving Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University.
First in the 1-meter dive he scored a 232.4, over 40 points better than second place. Then in the 3-meter he scored a 267.85, which topped second place more than 70 points. The two scores were 10th and fifth best in program history respectively.
Benjamin Martin also competed for the men's team and posted scores of 130.4 and 160.65 in the 1 and 3-meter dives.
Jane Rice was the top finisher for the women's team in both the 1 and 3-meter dives posting scores of 198.25 and 206.9. Her 206.9 in the 3-meter dive was good enough for third place in the event.
Leah Pawelczyk, Courtney Kane, and Christine McCabe also competed for the women's team in both events. Pawelczyk scored 159.2 and 182.4, Kane had scores of 143.8 and 142.5, and McCabe posted scores of 138.05 and 145.9.
Next up, both teams will be competing at Holy Cross on Saturday, October 31 at 11:00 am.
