Perraut & Roe Named to NEILA Senior Scholar Academic All-Region Team

NEWTON, Mass. – Fairfield University men's lacrosse seniors Greg Perraut and Michael Roe were named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Senior Scholar Academic All-Region Team.

Perraut, an accounting and finance major, served as a team captain for the 2014 season. The defender appeared in all 63 games during his career, setting the new program record.

Roe, a math major, was one of the top faceoff men in the ECAC Lacrosse League. For the season, Roe went 121-for-246 from the X with 61 ground balls. Roe finishes his career as a Stag ranked second all-time at Fairfield in faceoff wins (417), faceoffs attempted (771), and winning percentage (.541). Roe was also named to the ECAC Championship All-Tournament Team.

Including Perraut and Roe, 13 Stags have received the honor since 2000 and are the first Stags to receive the honor since 2011 when Sean Bannon and Doug Kuring were recognized.

Members of the NEILA Senior Scholar All-Academic Team are all graduating seniors who have excelled both in the classroom and on the playing field. In order to be selected for this team, student-athletes must be in their final year of eligibility, have posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and be a significant enough contributor on the field that they were nominated for conference or regional recognition. Twenty-three student-athletes from 10 schools in Division 1 were selected as Academic All-Region.

No. 18/20 Fairfield finished the season with a 12-4 overall record, tying the program record for wins, and captured a share of the 2014 ECAC Lacrosse League Regular Season Championship.
