LOUISVILLE – Four standouts from Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse have been named Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
Owen Hirsch,
Matt Rice,
Rory Thompson and
Luke Okupski all received the honor after the same quartet was previously tabbed as College Sports Communicators (CSC; formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District.
To be eligible for Scholar All-America, a student-athlete must be a senior or graduate student-athlete with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be an outstanding contributor on the lacrosse field. Hirsch, Rice and Thompson are all members of the Fairfield Class of 2025 while Okupski finished his undergraduate studies in 2024 and completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2025.
As a team, Fairfield was one of 44 Division I programs to earn the USILA Team Academic Award. The Stags posted a 3.57 team GPA for the 2024-25 academic year. The threshold for the Team Academic Award is a 3.0 GPA or better.

Fairfield Men's Lacrosse finished the 2025 season with a record of 12-3, tying the program single-season record for wins. The Stags went 8-0 on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium – the first unbeaten home mark in a full season in program history – and spent 10 weeks in the national rankings.
