Women's Tennis Falls to Hofstra, 5-1

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- The Fairfield University women's tennis team fell to Hofstra University, 5-1, this afternoon at the Hofstra Tennis Courts. Senior Monica Yajima scored the lone point for the Stags.
 
Fairfield's point of the day came at No. 1 singles where Yajima edged the Pride's Sarah Bowen, 6-3, 6-4.

At No. 2 singles, Sharissa Ryan fell to Hofstra's Louise Lopez, 6-0, 6-0. In the three spot, Allison Radde was downed by the Pride's  Carmen Pestano, 6-2, 6-1. Carolina Koladzyn battled but ultimately fell, 2-6, 6-0, 10-6, to Giulia Leone in the No. 4 spot. Kaila Nelson was clipped by Hofstra's Bianca Derrick, 2-6, 6-0, 11-9, at No. 5 singles while Victoria Pirrello fell, 2-6, 6-3, 10-7, to the Pride's Bianca Posa in the six spot.

All of the doubles matches were unfinished due to rain. 

Fairfield (4-6) will continue action at home. The Stags will host LIU Brooklyn on March 30 before traveling to Marist on April 1.
