Women's Tennis Heads to Hofstra on Friday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's tennis team will head to Hempstead, N.Y. on Friday, March 28 to compete against Hofstra University at the Hofstra Tennis Courts. The first serve is set for 10am.

Fairfield vs. Hofstra: Friday's match will be the first dual the Stags and the Pride have played against one another since last year's match on April 4. In that contest, Fairfield fell to Hofstra, 5-2, in Hempstead, N.Y.

A Look at the Pride: Hofstra is 2-7 on the season. The Pride have posted victories over Rider and St. Francis Brooklyn and have fallen to Albany, NJIT, Delaware, Towson, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, and Drexel. In their fall season, Hofstra competed in two tournaments including the USTA Invitational and the ITA Regional. The Pride are coming off a 6-1 loss to Drexel on March 23.  

Last Time Out: The Stags fell to the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 6-1, on March 19 at the Manchester Racquet Club in Manchester, Conn. Monica Yajima scored the lone point for the Stags when she defeated Sophia Dzulynsky, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(1), at No. 1 singles.

Looking Ahead: Fairfield (4-5) will continue action at home. The Stags will host LIU Brooklyn on March 30 before traveling to Marist on April 1.
