Women's Tennis Falls to Quinnipiac, 6-1

MANCHESTER, Conn. -- The Fairfield University women's tennis team fell to Quinnipiac University, 6-1, this afternoon at the Manchester Racquet Club. Senior Monica Yajima scored the lone point for the Stags.
 
Fairfield's point of the day came at No. 1 singles where Yajima edged the Bobcats' Sophia Dzulynsky, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(1).

At No. 2 singles, Sharissa Ryan fell to Quinnipiac's Jacqueline Raynor, 7-6(5), 7-5. In the three spot, Allison Radde battled but ultimately fell to the Bobcats' Michelle Dassa, 6-7(2), 6-2, 10-5. Carolina Koladzyn fell, 6-0, 6-2, to Sydney Young in the No. 4 spot. Kaila Nelson was clipped by Quinnipiac's Kelsi Oliphant, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5 singles while Victoria Pirrello dropped 6-4, 6-0 to the Bobcats' Ariana Launie in the six spot.

In doubles play, Fairfield duo Yajima/Koladzyn fell to Quinnipiac's Dzulynsky/Young, 8-3. At the second spot, Ryan/Pirrello were clipped by Raynor/Dassa, 8-5. At No. 3 doubles, the Bobcats' Oliphant/Launie edged Stags pair Radde/Nelson, 8-4.
 
Fairfield (4-5) will continue action on the road. The Stags will travel to Hofstra on March 28 before returning home to host LIU Brooklyn on March 30.
