Saturday's Women's Tennis Match Postponed

Women's Tennis Fairfield University

Women's Tennis Falls to Seton Hall, 4-0

MOUNTAINSIDE, N.J. - The Fairfield University women's tennis team fell to Seton Hall University, 4-0, yesterday evening at the Mountainside Tennis Center.
 
At No. 2 doubles, Stags duo Sharissa Ryan/Victoria Pirrello were edged by Pirates' duo Hannah Liljekvist/Madison Shoemaker, 8-6, while the Fairfield pair of Carolina Koladzyn and Kaila Nelson fell to Seton Hall's Julia Keenan and Julie Martiny, 8-4, in the No. 3 spot. In the No. 1 spot, Monica Yajima and Allison Radde were facing the Pirates' Rocio Portela and Chloe Sher when the match was called.
 
After winning the doubles point, Seton Hall maintained their lead in singles play. At No. 1 singles, Yajima fell to Sher, 6-0, 6-3, while Nelson fell to Keenan, 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 4 spot. In the No. 5 spot, Koladzyn was edged by Shoemaker, 6-0, 6-2. Rounding out singles play for Fairfield in the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 6 spots were Ryan, Radde, and Pirrello, all of whose matches were unfinished.

The Stags (3-3) return to action on March 5 when they travel to East Hartford, Conn. to compete against UConn at 1pm.
