The Fairfield University women's tennis team opens the second half of their season against St. John's University on Friday, January 24 at 11:30am at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The Stags (1-0) will play a total of seven non-conference matches before resuming MAAC play at home on March 19. Fairfield went 11-9 overall last season and 6-1 in league play while advancing to the MAAC Championship final match for the sixth consecutive year.
Senior
Monica Yajima, the three-time MAAC Player of the Year, enters her final semester as a Stag with a combined 123 victories (63-24 singles/60-40 doubles), good for third all-time and 26 behind career leader Paulina Reese. Also in the final run of their careers are seniors
Sharissa Ryan,
Carolina Koladzyn, and
Victoria Pirrello, all of whom earned All-MAAC honors one season ago.
After Friday's match, the Stags are off until February 1 when they host Fordham University at Stamford Indoor at 7pm.
