Women's Tennis Faces St. John's at National Tennis Center on Friday

The Fairfield University women's tennis team opens the second half of their season against St. John's University on Friday, January 24 at 11:30am at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The Stags (1-0) will play a total of seven non-conference matches before resuming MAAC play at home on March 19. Fairfield went 11-9 overall last season and 6-1 in league play while advancing to the MAAC Championship final match for the sixth consecutive year.

Senior Monica Yajima, the three-time MAAC Player of the Year, enters her final semester as a Stag with a combined 123 victories (63-24 singles/60-40 doubles), good for third all-time and 26 behind career leader Paulina Reese. Also in the final run of their careers are seniors Sharissa Ryan, Carolina Koladzyn, and Victoria Pirrello, all of whom earned All-MAAC honors one season ago.

After Friday's match, the Stags are off until February 1 when they host Fordham University at Stamford Indoor at 7pm.
