Fairfield, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's tennis team opened the 2013 fall season on September 7 at the Sacred Heart Doubles Festival.

In Flight 1, the Fairfield pair of Monica Yajima and Allison Radde picked up victories over Sacred Heart, 8-4, Bryant University, 8-7 (4), and UConn, 8-1.

In Flight 2, the Fairfield duo of Sharissa Ryan and Victoria Pirrello defeated UConn, 8-3, Sacred Heart, 8-1, and Bryant University, 8-1.

In Flight 3, rookies Kaila Nelson and Karen McKeough teamed up to defeat Sacred Heart, 8-3, and Bryant University, 8-5.

In Flight 4, the Fairfield pair of Stephanie Ziegler and Holly Ream defeated Sacred Heart, 8-1.

The Fairfield women's tennis team returns home to the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts to host conference opponent Rider University on September 11 at 2 pm.
