PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Fairfield University men's and women's rowing teams enjoyed a good day in the water Friday as six entries advanced to Saturday's semifinals at the 2013 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta. The semifinal races will take place between 7 and 9:30 am.
The women's novice 4 will get things started at 7:14 am after winning its heat with a time of 7:31.577. The men's novice 4 will be next in the water for the Stags, heading to the start for a 7:44 am race. The crew also won its heat by posting a time of 7:02.047.
The women's novice 8, which races at 7:56 am, also reached the next round of races by taking third place in its heat, completing the course in 7:37.166. Orange Coast won the heat with a time of 7:19.130. The women's pair set up for an 8:38 am start after it also took third place in its race by crossing the finish line aqt 8:11.94 with Cincinnati winning the heat. The men's pair advanced following its third-place run with a time of 7:32.76 as Case captured the heat. The Stags will get underway on Saturday at 8:56 am.
The women's varsity 4 will round out the semifinal races for Fairfield at 9:27 am, after taking second behind Western Ontario with a time of 7:32.46.
