BALTIMORE, Md. – In a grueling six and a half hour dual on Sunday afternoon, the Fairfield University women's tennis team defeated Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Loyola Maryland, 4-3.  Sharissa Ryan was the only one to go 2-0 on the day, while junior Carolina Koladzyn clinched the match for the Stags.
 
Loyola took the doubles point away from Fairfield in the No. 3 spot with a 9-8 win over duo Pirrello/Jackson.  Ryan and Radde paired up in the two spot to defeat the Greyhound's pairing of Hahn/Ott. 
 
In singles play, Ryan set the momentum with a two set win over Haleigh Morgus, blanking her in the second set, 6-4, 6-0.  At No. 5, Victoria Pirrello defeated Olivia Ott, 6-1, 7-5, before Loyola grabbed two more points with wins in the three and six spots.  Monica Yajima and Carolina Koladzyn each went three sets with their opponents.  In the one spot, Yajima battled with Megan Hahn splitting the first two sets, before blanking the Greyhound in the third to take the victory, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.  Koladzyn finished the day for the Stags by defeating Scarlett Hoy and clinching the match for the Stags, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.
 
Fairfield (6-6, 3-0 MAAC) has a three dual lineup of conference opponents coming up starting with Marist College on April 10 at 3PM on the Fairfield Athletic Center Tennis Courts followed by another home matchup against Niagara on Saturday, starting at 10AM.
