FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – The Fairfield University women's tennis team improved to an overall record of 8-7, 5-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, with a 7-0 sweep Sunday afternoon over Manhattan College. 
 
The Stags started the day by capturing the doubles point with three wins.  At No. 1 doubles, Yajima/Radde defeated the Jasper duo of Johnson/Turano, 8-4, while McLaughlin and Pirrello in the three spot, sat down Clark/Leischen, 8-2.  At No. 2, Carolina Koladzyn and Emma Samson paired up against Stephanie Tsao and Megan Maffei for the closest of the three matches, but came out on top, 8-7.
 
Fairfield carried the momentum into singles play by winning all but one match in two-straight sets.  Allison Radde gave up just one game against Tsao in the three spot while Koladzyn finished, 6-1, 6-2, versus Brianna Turano at No. 2 singles. Monica Yajima faced Lili Johnson in the one spot and came away victorious after dropping the second set, 6-3, 5-7, 10-3.  Rounding out singles play was Victoria Pirrello, Nikki Jackson, and Maggie McLaughlin, each adding wins to the team's tally.
 
The Fairfield women will play three duals in their final week of the regular season.  First on the schedule is a midweek matchup on the road against Hartford University at 3PM on Wednesday.  The Stags will face Siena in their final conference dual on Saturday, and follow up with Stony Brook on Sunday, both at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts.
