FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University tennis team fell to an overall record of 4-5 with their 6-1 loss to Quinnipiac University.  Monica Yajima came away with the lone win on the day in the one spot.
 
The Bobcats swept doubles play to clinch the first point on the day.  At No. 1 doubles, the duo of Yajima/Radde fell to Cantor/Viebrook, 8-6, while Koladzyn/Pirrello and Ryan/Jackson dropped matches in the two and three spots, respectively. 
 
Yajima defeated Rachel Cantor at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3, but the Stags were unable to come away with three more victories to capture the dual win.  In the six spot, Emma Samson battled with her opponent in the second set but dropped 6-2, 7-6(6), to finish the day. 
 
Fairfield (4-5, 2-0 MAAC) will travel to Hempstead, N.Y. for their first of three duals on the road.  The Stags will face Hofstra University on April 4 at 3pm followed by LaSalle and Loyola University Md. on April 6 and 7.
