Fairfield University women's lacrosse freshman Maeve Quinn (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday. It is the first conference award of the season for Quinn and the second time in five weeks that the Stags have had a player named Rookie of the Week.

A graduate of Sacred Heart, Quinn scored her first collegiate points in the Stags win over Quinnipiac at home last Wednesday. She touched net for the first time as a Stag with 6:43 to play in the second-half.  Quinn recorded her hat trick quickly, scoring with 85 seconds and 65 seconds to play in the game.

It was Quinn's second career game, having made her Fairfield debut a week early in a win over Sacred Heart.  Quinn received her first two collegiate free position chances and put them both into the back of the net.

Fairfield is off to a 4-4 start, with a 3-1 record at home.  The Stags play just once this week, travelling to Lehigh for a 3 p.m. game on Wednesday. Fairfield returns home on March 27 when it hosts Cal at 3 p.m. on Alumni Field.
