STAMFORD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women's tennis team fell to Providence College, 4-0 on Saturday night at the Stamford Indoor Courts.  The only Stags to come out on top were the duo of Monica Yajima and Allison Radde who dominated at No. 1 doubles.

Yajima/Radde defeated the pairing of Marisela Aviles and Maria Bernardez, 8-2.  After winning the first doubles match, Fairfield was unable to clinch the point, dropping in the two and three spots.  Sharissa Ryan and Nikki Jackson fell to Prinos/Corder, 8-5, while Maggie McLaughlin and Emma Samson dropped to Ramirez/Zangari at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.

The Stags finished the day with just three singles matches played as Providence clinched the match by winning in the six, four and one spots.  Samson fell in two sets to Hannah Zangari while Jackson had the same result against Taylor Corder.  At No. 1 singles, Yajima was defeated by Aviles, 6-3, 6-4.

The Fairfield women's tennis team (1-2) will make a trip to Albany, N.Y. on Saturday, February 9 to take on Albany at 1pm.  Albany is currently 1-0 after defeating the MAAC's Marist College in their season opener, 4-3.
