How do we pay for swim lessons?
Payments are due in full at the first lesson. We accept cash, but prefer checks (made payable to Fairfield University). We do not accept debit or credit cards for payment.
What happens if we have to miss a lesson?
If you miss a lesson, as space and time permits, you may request to “double up” another week. The child would do their regular lesson, plus a lesson before or after to make up for the missed lesson. There is a 15 minute break between lessons, and if your child is tired at the end of the second lesson they may leave early. The opportunity to double up is based on availability. Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be missing a lesson.
Can we pay less for lessons if we have to miss a lesson ?
We offer a flat rate for lessons, so you cannot pay for individual lessons. Each swimmer is entitled to six lessons, and we encourage you to utilize our option of doubling up or switching times one week if you have to miss a lesson.
What is the ratio of swimmers to instructors?
The ratio varies depending on the number of swimmers who sign up for each session as well as the ability level of each swimmer. Our team has grown significantly for the 2016-17 season, and we will have plenty of instructors to secure a ratio that promotes safety and good learning.
Will we have the same instructor each lesson? (Meet The Instructors)
It is our goal for swimmers to have the same instructor each week. However, emergencies arise that will occasionally prevent this from happening.
Do we need to show up early for lessons?
We encourage you to have your child ready to get in the water at the 15 minutes after the hour. Please allow plenty of time to park and navigate the building, and locker rooms, especially the first week. You will also need to allow a few minutes to check in at the registration desk.
