FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University junior
Howie Rosas was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Runner of the Week after capturing the individual title and helping the Stags to their third consecutive Fr. Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational title.
Rosas traversed the Fairfield University campus 8K course in 25:59 setting a personal best. He out-ran 67 other runners and finished 19 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Rosas also ran 40 seconds faster than he did at the Leeber Invitational last season. He is only the third Stag in meet history to capture the individual title. Teammate
Connor Kelley won last season while Ian Macneill won in 1995.
A team captain, Rosas has been the Stags' top runner in all three meets this season.
Fairfield returns to action on October 7 at the New England Championships in Westfield, Mass.
