Rowing Earns Six Spots In Dad Vail Semifinals

Women's Varsity 4 Captures MAAC Gold At Conference

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- The Fairfield University rowing teams competed at the annual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championships at Mercer Lake. The women's team took fourth place in the team competiton, while the men's team secured a third-place finish.

Drake captured the women's championship with 33 points while Marist secured second place with 31 points. Fairfield tallied 17 team points just off Jacksonville's 19 team points. Jacksonville won the men's compeition with 143 points with Iona registering 123 points for the runner-up slot. The Stags were next in line with 104 points, taking third in the six-team competition.

Fairfield had several highlights during the day-long event. The women's varsity four paced the team by winning its event with a time of 8:12.1, while the novice 4 also took first place in a non-scoring event. The women's novice 8  left with a second-place finish, crossing the finish line in 7:40.1, while the men's novice 8 also took home the silver medal with a time of 7:14.0.
