Final Results
Emma Ritzmann carded her best round of the tournament, 77, to help lead the Fairfield University women's golf team to a third place finish at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational. In its final tune-up for the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship the Stags shot a 54-hole score of 977, three strokes behind Central Connecticut and Robert Morris which tied for the team crown.
Ritzmann sat in fourth place entering the final round, six strokes behind Ellen Huffman of Wagner. Ritzmann, who shot 79-80 on Monday, made up five of those strokes, to finish at 236, good for second place overall. Megan Feeney was close behind, shooting an 80 on Tuesday to finish in fourth place with a three-day score of 241.
Elly Lemons finished 13th for the Stags, with a 54-hole score of 250. Kathryn Heffernan carded an 85 in the final round to finish in 15th place at 254. Katherine Rockwell shot 86, her best 18-holes of the tournament and finished in 22nd place with a score of 260.
The Stags travel to Disney's Magnolia Golf Course April 27-29 for the 54-hole MAAC Championship.
