FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team plays its final non-conference game of the 2011-12 season when it travels for a Saturday afternoon match up with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers. The two teams will meet as part of the Sears Bracketbusters pool. The game marks the third meeting between these programs with each team winning a game in the series.

Fairfield brings a six-game winning streak into this weekend after defeating Saint Peter's College by a 61-38 margin at Webster Bank Arena. Five of the six wins during this current streak came at Webster Bank Arena with the lone road win taking place at Loyola University last Sunday. The Stags own a 16-10 overall record, while the Panthers have a 16-12 overall mark.

The Stags celebrated Senior Night before the Saint Peter's game and the Class of 2012 certainly came through on their night. All four seniors scored in the game and combined for 34 of the team's 61 points. Rakim Sanders led all scorers in the game with 15 points, while Sean Crawford came off the bench to tally 12 points. It was the eighth time that the senior led all Fairfield reserves in scoring this year.

Derek Needham also contributed a solid all-around game with 11 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. The junior needs two more three-point shots to reach 200 for his career, joining Greg Francis '97 as the only Stags to reach that mark in a career. Needham is currently the active three-point leader in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with 198, more than 30 ahead of Iona's Kyle Smyth who stands second on the active list.

Milwaukee comes off an 86-84 home win against Cleveland State in its last outing, producing the team's 16th win of the season. Kaylon Williams leads the team in scoring with an 11.0 scoring average, one of three Panther student-athletes to own a double-digit scoring average. James Haarsma (10.4 ppg), and Tony Meier (10.0 ppg). Haarsma is the team's top rebounder at 5.6 caroms per contest, slightly higher than Ryan Allen's mark of 5.3 rpg.

Following this game, the Stags will finish out their regular-season with three more road games, heading to Marist College on Monday, February 20. The regular-season comes to an end the following weekend with games at Iona on Friday, February 24 and at Rider on Sunday, February 26. The Iona game will be televised nationally at 9 pm on ESPNU.
