FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Head Coach
Chris Casey has announced the signing of Cole Edelen as a part of the Fairfield University Basketball Class of 2030. Edelen was a 2,000-point scorer at Ballard High School in Louisville, fueled by more than 400 career three-pointers.
"Cole has the talent to excel at both guard positions. He was a tremendous three-point shooter throughout his high school career and can also create shots for himself and his teammates off the dribble," said Casey. "We're excited to welcome him to the Fairfield Basketball family."
Edelen will join the Stags from Ballard, where he averaged more than 18 points per game as a senior. He led Ballard to a 23-7 record this past season, including a District Championship and a berth in the KHSAA 7th Region Championship Game. Edelen was an All-State Second Team and All-Region First Team honoree for the Bruins.
The highest-rated freshman recruit by 247Sports in Fairfield history with a scout grade of 86, Edelen is the #2 ranked high school senior recruit in the state of Kentucky.
Edelen is the fifth member of Fairfield's incoming freshman class, joining Jaden Brown, Jah Hatchett, Brayden Jones, and Oesoemana Sacko.
Fairfield Men's Basketball finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 21-13 record – the second 20-win season in three years led by Head Coach
Chris Casey. The Stags won two postseason games to finish their campaign in the MAAC Championship Semifinals.
