Biography

2010-11
Crawford missed the 2010-11 season after suffering an injury during preseason workouts in October. He returns from t he injury with any restrictions and should be ready to contribute in 2010-11.

2009-10

After spending most of the season as a reserve, Crawford joined the starting lineup for 10 straight games before coming off the bench in both CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament games. The guard enjoyed his best game as a Stag in a start against Niagara in the regular season finale, netting 25 points in 34 minutes by making nine of 17 shots from the floor. Four of his nine field goals either tied the game or put Fairfield in front, and he had a free throw which also tied the game. He scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half and overtime period.  It was the fifth game in which he reached double figures. He tallied 12 points in his first-ever start against Saint Peter’s, and followed up with a 15-point effort at Siena. He made an impact on games regularly, including a win at Loyola. He scored eight of his 10 points in the final two minutes of the game, including a four-point play with 1:41 remaining that pushed Fairfield in front for good. Crawford collected most of his minutes in the final 14 games of the season, playing 378 of his 564 minutes during that stretch. His increase in minutes led to an increase in production in those 14 contests, averaging 7.7 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. 

2008-09
Crawford appeared in 25 games as a rookie, and gained a start against Rider at home. He played a personal-best 21 minutes in that start, registering four points and four rebounds. The guard later surpassed his high for playing time with a 23-minute outing versus Marist. Crawford scored in 12 of his 25 appearances, including a season-best three straight games to end the season - two points at Rider, six points vs. Manhattan, and three points against Siena. He scored in nine of his 15 road games, averaging 2.2 points per game away from home. Crawford averaged 1.8 points per game overall. He dished off 25 assists in 25 games, 15 of which came in his final seven outings. He was also very effective defensively with 10 steals over the last nine games. Crawford picked up a season-highs with four assists and three steals in the MAAC semifinal game against Siena. He was one of the team's top free throw shooters, netting 81 percent of his tries (13 of 16).

Before Fairfield
Crawford came to Fairfield after a successful career at Notre Dame Prep in Laurelton, N.Y. He emerged as one of the team’s top scorers over his last two seasons, netting 12 points per game as a junior before raising his scoring average to 18.5 points as a senior. He tallied a career-high 35 points against Poughkeepsie High School during his final season. Crawford showed his range as a shooter when he netted eight three pointers in a game on three separate occasions. One of those efforts came in a state playoff game, which set a tournament record. He enjoyed a great deal of success at Notre Dame Prep, helping the team capture the 2006-07 National Prep Championship. Individually, Crawford was lauded for his play with a spot on the New York Daily News All-Queens team, as well as a berth to the Queens Courier first team.
