Kaitlyn Taddeo Earns America East Rookie Of The We

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Kaitlyn Taddeo (Wading River, N.Y.) earned the America East Rookie of the Week award after helping the Fairfield University field hockey team clinch a berth in the conference tournament after a 2-0 week. The Stags is one of four teams in the America East tournament which takes place on November 2-4.

The forward assisted on the game-winning goal against Vermont in the tournament-clinching victory last Saturday which came 17 seconds into overtime. One day later, Taddeo came off the bench to assist on two of the team's four goals in a 4-2 win over Penn. She set up the tying goal and the fourth goal for the Stags.

The freshman has nine points in her 18 appearances which includes two goals and five assists. Her assist total ties her for second on the team.

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach Jackie Kane, owns a 10-8 overall record and a 1-3 mark in America East. The Stags will close out the regular season with a road game against Boston University on October 27. The postseason begins with the America East semifinals on November 2 as New Hampshire, Maine, Albany, and Fairfield will comprise the four-team field.
