Women's Golf Moves Up To Ninth Place At Dartmouth

 Final Results

The Fairfield University women's golf team made up two strokes with a final round 340 to move into a 9th place tie with Niagara University at the 2011 Dartmouth Women's Invitational, with a final score of 691.  Host Dartmouth won the 36-hole event, played at Hanover Country Club,  with a final score of 629.

Elly Lemons carded the Stags lowest round of the day on Sunday, with an 80, 12 strokes better than her round one score.  She moved up 15 places to tie for 32nd with a two-day score of 172.  Megan Feeney was the Stags top finisher at the event, tying for 12th, with a 163 after shooting 80-83. 

Katherine Rockwell, playing in her first collegiate tournament, shot a 90 on Sunday to finish with a 174, tied for 35thKate Heffernan sliced eight shots off of her first round score, with an 87, to finish in 49th with a final score of 182.

Sunday's round was the Stags Putting for Pink round, where for every par or better scored by the Stags donations are made to Rally for the Cure®.  Any fan that wishes to make a pledge or a donation can complete the online form.

Hartford's Sarah Sideranko won the individual crown with a 149, shooting 71-78.

The Stags are back in action at the ECAC Division I Championship, October 2-3 at the Twisted Dunes Golf Course in Egg Harbor City, N.J.
