Women's Golf Moves Up Two Spots In Final Round Of

The Fairfield University women's golf team sliced 14 shots off its first round score to card a second round 339 to finish in 12th place at the Towson Women's Golf Classic on Monday.  The tournament was played at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md.

Elly Lemons was the Stags top finisher at their first event of the season, tying for eighth place.  She shot consecutive rounds of 78 to finish at +11 with a score of 156.  Megan Feeney made was the Stags biggest mover of the second round, shooting an 83 on Monday, to move up 15 spots to a tie for 49th.  Feeney finished with a two-day score of 175. 

Rookie Emma Ritzmann carded her second 88 of the tournament on Monday to move up a spot to 51st place with a final tally of 176.   Kate Heffernan's second round of 90 was five shots better than her score on Sunday to finish in 66th place with a final score of 185.  Mary Alice Limperopulos rounded out the Stags effort with a 74th place finish, knocking 11 strokes off of her first round score, with a 108 on Monday.

Monday's round was the Stags Putting for Pink round, where for every par or better scored by the Stags donations are made to Rally for the Cure®.  Any fan that wishes to make a pledge or a donation can complete the online form.

Old Dominion University shot a tournament-best round of 307 on Monday to capture the team title with a score of 624.  St. John's Harin Lee was the wire-to-wire leader, carding rounds of 73 on both days, to finish +2 with a score of 146.
