Fairfield returns to Alumni Diamond for only the second time this season as the Stags host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Niagara University on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 12pm. The Stags and the Purple Eagles finish out the season series on Sunday with a single game beginning at 12pm.

Fairfield (8-15; 1-5 MAAC) vs. Niagara (4-22; 1-5 MAAC): The Stags took the series from the Purple Eagles last season, winning two out of three games and snapping a five-game losing skid against Niagara. In that series, Carmine DeVito drove in four runs while Tucker Nathans hit .385. On the hill, Mark Bordonaro made two relief appearances and allowed just one hit and struck out two batters. Fairfield is 24-14 all-time against Niagara.
Niagara Nuggets: The Purple Eagles were last in action on April 3 when they shutout Saint Peter's, 4-0, in Jersey City, N.J. The victory snapped a six-game slide for Niagara. Senior Cam Stykemain has scored a team-best 19 times this season and is batting .302. Eric Hink has driven in a team-high 15 runs while Jack Wilson has 14 RBI. Adam Wagner leads all Purple Eagles with a .322 batting average. As a pitching staff, Niagara has a combined ERA of 8.26.
Last Time Out: The Stags snapped a five-game skid with an impressive 9-3 victory over Army in a shortened game at Doubleday Field on Tuesday. Junior Mark Skrapits went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three RBI, and a run scored. Senior Tucker Nathans went 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, and three runs. Nathans' three-hits were all doubles, tying a Fairfield single game record. Junior Brett Shulick notched the win after going four innings, scattering one run on five hits with two strikeouts, to improve to 2-1 on the season.
