BALTIMORE, Md. – The Fairfield University men's tennis team snapped Loyola's five match unbeaten home streak as well as a two-match skid of their own Saturday with a 7-0 victory over the Greyhounds. The win brings the Stags 7-7 overall, and 2-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.
Michalisin started singles play off with a three-set victory over Keyan Sanai 6-3, 1-6, 1-0(10-8) at first singles. Sauter followed Michalisin's lead with a decisive 6-2, 6-0 win over Pierce Norton in the No. 2 spot. At third singles, Zlobinsky topped Kevin Zingler 6-3, 6-2 while Kremheller followed in the fourth spot with his victory over Bobby Gorczakowski 7-6(4-0), 6-0. Ferrante and
Reece Breault rounded out the scoring for the Stags at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles position. Ferrante took care of Dan D'Agostino 6-4, 6-5 and Breault handled Connor Lisco 6-4, 6-0.
The men's tennis team returns to action Monday, April 4 when it hosts cross-town foe Sacred Heart in a 3pm match on the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts.
