Baseball Hosts Siena On Saturday & Sunday

Fairfield hosts Siena in a crucial MAAC series as the two teams enter the weekend with identical 6-6 league records. The two teams play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12pm and wrap-up the series on May 1 at 12pm.

Fairfield (14-20; 6-6 MAAC) vs. Siena (17-24; 6-6 MAAC): Fairfield has swept the last two series from Siena. Senior Tucker Nathans is a career .323 (11-for-34) hitter against the Saints with 11 RBI and four runs scored. Senior Chris Horning also fares well against Siena, batting .539 (7-for-13) with three runs scored. Junior Mark Skrapits is 6-for-10 all-time against the Saints with five runs scored and four driven in while classmate Ryan Furbeck is 5-for-12 all-time with five runs scored and three RBI.

Saints Snippets: Siena has won six of its last eight contests, including a three-game sweep of Niagara last weekend. The Saints are led by junior Dan Paolini who is batting .358 with 16 home runs, 52 RBI, 37 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases. Freshman Tyler Bell is the reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week batting .455 in the sweep of the Purple Eagles.

Looking Ahead: Fairfield will play its final non-league game on May 4 at Quinnipiac University. The Stags return home May 7-8 to host Iona College at Alumni Diamond. Fairfield will play its final MAAC road series, May 14-15, at Canisius College before playing its final regular season series against Saint Peter's May 19-20.
