Fairfield (12-18; 4-5 MAAC) vs. Rider (21-12; 9-3 MAAC): The Stags took last year's season series from the Broncs, 2-1. Fairfield opened with a 5-2 victory but Rider took the second game, 9-8, in extra innings. In the rubber game, the Stags won in their final at-bat as Chris Horning delivered a bases loaded single to lift Fairfield to a 9-8 victory. Anthony Hajjar hit .500 in the series with four runs scored and three batted in. Horning is a career .375 hitter against Rider with four runs and five RBI. Senior Tucker Nathans is a career .447 hitter against the Broncs, collecting, 16 RBI, 10 runs scored, and five doubles against them over the last three seasons. The Stags have won the last two series against the Broncs, going 4-2 during that stretch. Fairfield is 20-36 all-time against Rider.
Looking Ahead: Fairfield has five home games on tap for next week. The Stags are scheduled to host Sacred Heart on April 26 and Stony Brook on April 27 followed by a three-game series with Siena, April 30 – May 1.
