FAIRFIELD, Conn . – The Fairfield University men's and women's tennis team hosts Siena tomorrow, April 17 at 11am on the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts. The men are now 11-8 overall, and 4-1 in conference, while Siena's men's team enters the match at 4-12, and 1-3 in MAAC action. Fairfield women's team heads into the match at 11-7 and an undefeated 5-0 in conference play. The Siena women's team is 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the MAAC, with their only conference loss coming at the hands of Marist, 6-1. A win over the Saints tomorrow will clinch the women's second consecutive MAAC regular season championship. Last season, both the men and women blanked Siena 7-0.
The conference match-up also marks the Stags final home match, as well as regular season match of the 2011 season. It will be the last contest on the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts for Fairfield's four senior captains,
Mark Kremheller,
Rob Ferrante,
Kristen Liu, and
Alyssa Ruiz.
Kremheller is 5-8 overall in doubles play with a 3-0 record in dual action, while Ferrante is 10-12 overall in singles action, and 10-11 in doubles. On the women's side, Lui holds a 6-13 record in singles, and is 9-10 overall in doubles. In singles play, Ruiz is 15-15 overall, and 8-9 in doubles action.
