Women's Golf Tops CCSU

CAPE CHARLES, Va. – The Fairfield University women's golf team beat CCSU in their second event of spring break. As a team, the Stags finished the two days shooting a round one score of 600 and a round two score of 502, while CCSU finished with a 661 and 570 on the two rounds.

Elly Lemons
paced the Stags with a two-day team best 160 total. Lemons shot an 81 on the first round and a team low 79 on round two. Kristen Macdonald was one stroke behind Lemons after shooting a 79 and 82 for a 161 total. Annie Sperandio also shot a 79 to tie with Macdonald for first overall after day one. Sperandio followed her 79 with an 88 on day two for a 167 two-day total.

Megan Feeney
shaved three strokes off her first round score while Christina DeStefano improved her day one score by eight strokes. Feeney finished with a 169 and DeStefano shot a 170 on the two days. Rounding out the scoring for the Stags was Claire Rothschild who finished with a 172.

The women's golf team returns to action April 11-12 when they participate in the University of Hartford Invitational on Rockledge Golf Course.
