The Red Foxes 16-4; 2-1 MAAC) got on the board in the bottom of the first inning. After Zach Shank singled home Mike Gallic, a Stags miscue on the play led to another run and gave Marist the 2-0 lead.

Fairfield (7-11; 1-2 MAAC) tied it up in the top of the fifth inning as junior Tyler Wosleger singled up the middle to drive in Anthony Hajjar and Nick Piccirillo who both singled earlier in the frame. The Red Foxes added their fifth run of the day in the seventh inning.

Kyle Putnam (3-2) notched the win for Marist, allowing two runs on four hits in five and a third innings of work.
