FINAL RESULTS
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Fairfield University women's golf team finished play at the C&F Bank Invitational this evening. The Stags shaved seven strokes off their first round team score to end the day with a 332 total to follow their 339 team score from yesterday. They ended the 36-hole event with a 671 two-day team total finishing 15th overall.
Kristen Macdonald again paced the Stags for the second round, finishing with a 162 on the 36 holes and a tied for 33rd ranking overall. Annie Sperandio improved her first round score by 9, shooting a 79 on the second round for a 167 total. Christina DeStefano also shot lower on the second day shaving six strokes off her score to end the second round with an 82. Claire Rothschild finished with a 172 on the 36 holes, while Elise Lemons rounded out the scoring with a 180.
Yale University maintained their lead in the second round, and finished atop the leader board with a team total 606, including a 296 on the first round, and a 310 on the second. Yale's Joy Kim's hole-in-one on the par-three, 150 yard,12th hole, highlighted the weekend of tough competition amongst the 22 schools.
The Stags turn around and continue play tomorrow, March 21, when they travel to Cape Charles, Va. to participate in the Central Connecticut Invitational.
