Golf Begins Spring Break At C&F Bank Invitational

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's and women's golf teams head to the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. to participate in the C&F Bank Invitational. The women begin the 36-hole event today, March 19 on the 6, 050, par 72 Blackheath Golf Course at Ford's Colony Resort. Fairfield is one of 18 teams participating in the invitational. The match marks the second so far for the Stags this season as they opened with a 4th place finish at the Lonnie Barton Invitational earlier this month. Senior Kristen Macdonald (Billerica, Mass.) led the way in their opening tournament finishing 4th overall shooting a 154 total on 36 holes.

After the C&F Bank Invitational, the women's golf team continues spring break in Cape Charles, Va. where they will play in the Central Connecticut Invitational on the Bay Creek Golf Course. The event begins March 21. The Stags will then stay in Cape Charles for the remainder of the break for training.

The men's golf team opens play at the C&F Bank Invitational March 21. They will be playing on the Woods Golf Course, a 6,659 yard, par 72 course at the Kingsmill Resort. They are one of 21 schools participating in the event. The invitational is the men's second tournament of the spring as well after placing 5th overall at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. Sophomore Scott Rainaud (South Hadley, Mass.) paced the Stags in their opening tournament with a 7th place overall finish after shooting a two-day total of 151.
