Baseball Travels To UMBC For Weekend Series

Fairfield finishes their first road swing of the season with a three-game series at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) this weekend. The series first pitch is slated for 12pm on Saturday, March 12.

LiveStats will be available for the series by visiting www.UMBCRetrievers.com. The Stags are coming off a 1-2 weekend at Old Dominion while the Retrievers are seeking their first win of the season after a 0-5 start, most recently falling to George Washington University on Wednesday.

Fairfield last met UMBC in 2009 and swept a three-game series from them. The Stags took the first game, 7-2, edged the Retrievers, 6-4, in extra innings in the second, and closed out competition with a 5-4 win. Tucker Nathans hit .583 against UMBC with six RBI in that series while Ryan Furbeck collected six hits, had two sac bunts, and scored four times. The Stags are 5-4 all-time against the Retrievers.
