The women's cross country team had the highestcollective grade point average out of Fairfield's 20 varsity programs for the 2009-2010 academic year. The Stags finished with a 3.53 GPA for the year.

During the spring semester, both the men and the women had the highest team GPA. The men's team finished with a 3.28 GPA while the women's team had a 3.51 GPA. Each team had 11 members with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for a combined total of 15 student-athletes on the University's Dean's List.

In the fall, they Stags earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors and boasted the highest team GPA for both men's and women's sports. Ten Stags were also named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team.
