MONTGOMERY, N.Y. -- Competing on the course where she brought home the 2024 individual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference cross country crown last November, sophomore Hannah Snayd opened her 2025 campaign with a strong third place finish at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational hosted by Manhattan University. Snayd covered the 6K course at Twin Ponds on the Farm in a time of 20:29.8.
As a team, the Stags finished in fifth place in the 17-team event, as they placed ahead of conference foes Sacred Heart, Rider, Siena, Manhattan and Saint Peter's. Quinnipiac took the women's team title on Saturday with all five of their scorers finishing in the top 11 spots. Bucknell's Shaelan McNally took first place as an individual in a time of 20:08.8.
Junior Mia Strazzella was the next Fairfield runner to cross the line on Saturday with a top-20 finish (19th) in a time of 21:53.2.
Bridget Reidy (22:54.7), Taylor Partridge (23:14.8) and Carlina Castro (23:18.6) wrapped the scoring racers for Fairfield on Saturday, as they finished just ahead of teammates Clare Lowther (23:19.2) and Catherine Gobo (23:25.4). A total of 176 runners completed Saturday's race, which took place on the course where the MAAC Championship Meet will be held on Saturday, November 1.
Fairfield is back in action next Saturday morning in New Britain at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University in Stanley Quarter Park.
