Final Results

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Despite windy and rainy conditions, the Fairfield women's golf team earned a top ten finish this weekend on Rutgers Golf Course. Only two rounds were played because of the inclement weather on Friday afternoon. The Stags finished the 20 team event with a team total of 666 (335, 331).

Sophomore Elly Lemons paced the Stags shooting an 83 and an 81 for a 164 total. Her +20 performance earned her tied for 17th overall. Christina DeStefano improved her first round score by three shooting an 84 and 81 for a 165 total. DeStefano finished tied for 23rd.

Annie Sperandio was two strokes behind DeStefano finishing with a 167 (82, 85), while Kristen Macdonald shot an 86 and 84, ending the tournament with a 170 total. Megan Feeney almost improved her first round score by double digits shooting a 94 and 83. Claire Rothschild finished out the Stags' scoring with a 180 total on a round of 91 and 89.

Fairleigh Dickinson won the event with a team total of 642. The Fairfield women's golf team will return to action at the Hofstra Women's Invitational October 25-26.
