FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's tennis team was in action for the first time in 2017 on Sunday afternoon. They hosted Davidson at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center, dropping by a score of 7-0.
In doubles action, Brad Orban and Tyler Shibles grabbed the only win of the day at No. 1 (6-3). At No. 2 Jeffrey Rodgers and Anthony Caputo fell 6-2, while Dylan Appel and Ethan Ammon lost a close one 7-5.
The visiting Wildcats swept Fairfield in singles play, all in straight sets except for the first and third positions. Orban fell in three sets at No. 1 (3-6, 6-2, 10-6). And at No. 3 Caputo dropped 7-5, 4-6, 10-5.
Fairfield next plays on February 4 against Lafayette.
