DEAL, N.J. – The Fairfield University men’s golf team finished tied for fourth place at the Monmouth University Hawk Invitational this afternoon at the Deal Country Club.
The Stags finished with a team score of 321 (+37) to tie with Iona College. Saint Peter’s University shot a 313 to win the event while Monmouth was a stroke behind (314) in second place. Manhattan College carded a 319 to place third.
Patrick Lynch and Peter Repetto both shot a 79 (+8) on the par-71, 6,370-yard course to tie for eighth overall. Alex Taylor shot an 81 (+10) to tie for 14th while Eric Johnson shot an 82 (+11). Ricky Dowling rounded out the group with an 85 (+14).
Fairfield heads to the Peacock Invitational on April 21 at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course. The Stags are then off to the 2014 MAAC Championships, April 25-27, at Disney’s Palm Golf Course in Orlando, Fla.
