Men's Golf Tied for 13th After First Round of Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational

EASTON, Md. – After the first round of play, the Fairfield University men’s golf team is tied for 13th at the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational. The Stags shot a collective 320 on the par-72, 6,703-yard Hog Neck Golf Course.

Ricky Dowling turned in the Stags’ best performance of the day, shooting a 75 (+3), which ties him for sixth overall. Dowling shot a 37 on the front nine, which included a birdie and an eagle.

Patrick Lynch carded a score of 80 (+8) during the first round which ties him for 45th overall. Alex Taylor shot an 82 (+10) while Peter Repetto and Eric Johnson both shot an 83 (+11).

Fairleigh Dickinson is the tournament leader with a 299 (+11) while VCU is close behind after shooting a 301 (+13). The Stags sit ahead of several MAAC teams as St. Peter's is in 16th (322), SIena is in 17th (328), Rider is tied for 18th (332), and Iona is 22nd (344).

The Towson Invitational will conclude tomorrow.
