FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's soccer team was selected fourth in The Metro Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, garnering one first-place vote in the voting. In addition, sophomores
Sean Albritton and
Alex Vaz both earned Preseason All-Metro Conference honors.
The Stags received 135 points based on the vote of the conference head coaches. Sacred Heart University took the top spot with 156 points which included seven first-place votes. Siena University held down the second slot with 151 points and four first-place nods. Iona University rounded out the top three in the standings based on its 143 points and one first-place selection.
Marist University and Quinnipiac University secured a tie for fifth place in the poll, each receiving 109 points. The remainder of the poll included Niagara University (84 points), Manhattan University (63 points), Mount St. Mary's University (58 points), Saint Peter's University (54 points), Merrimack College (47 points), Canisius University (37 points), and Rider University (37 points).
The Metro Conference also announced its preseason accolades as well with two Fairfield University student-athletes being listed among the honorees.
Albritton collected the recognition based on his performance in 2025, pacing the Fairfield offense with nine goals and 18 total points through his 14 appearances. The forward was named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) second team after placing third among all MAAC scorers in 2025.
Vaz also was voted to the All-Metro preseason team following his successful freshman campaign in 2025. The midfielder placed third among his Fairfield teammates with five goals and total points covering his 12 appearances with the program. He received an All-MAAC first team nod last year.

Krystian Witkowski, opens the 2026 campaign on the road, heading to Marshall University on August 20 and UConn on August 27 before opening its home slate on September 1 versus Lehigh University.
