Fairfield Women’s Basketball Unveils Non-Conference Home Slate

The Stags will play one exhibition and four regular season home outings prior to the start of the Metro Conference schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Basketball has announced its non-conference home schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The Stags will play one exhibition and four regular season contests at Leo D. Mahoney Arena prior to the start of the Metro Conference slate.

Season tickets are on sale now at fairfieldstags.com/tix. Including the Metro Conference schedule, which has not yet been announced, the Stags are set to play a total of 15 home games – 14 in the regular season.

The 2026-27 edition of the Stags takes the court at Mahoney Arena for the first time on Wednesday, Oct. 21 for an exhibition game against local foe New Haven. The contest will be included in season ticket packages. Season ticket holders will be contacted directly when more information is available.

As previously announced, Fairfield will open the regular season home slate with two games as a part of the inaugural America East-Metro Challenge. The Stags host a pair of 20-win teams with visits from Binghamton on Friday, Nov. 6 and reining America East Champion Vermont on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Action returns to Mahoney Arena on the following Sunday, Nov. 15 as Fairfield welcomes Big East foe Villanova. The Stags have defeated the Wildcats in back-to-back seasons, including a 75-63 road win to open the 2025-26 campaign. Villanova finished last season at 25-8, reaching the Big East Championship Game and meriting an at-large berth to the NCAA postseason.

The final non-conference home game is set for Sunday, Dec. 13 when defending MEAC Champion Howard makes its first-ever trip to Mahoney Arena. The Stags were edged by the Bison, 72-69, in Washington, D.C. last season in a meeting for two squads that won their conference regular season and tournament titles. Fairfield and Howard were also both a part of the NCAA Columbus Regional last March.

Fairfield Women's Basketball has won three consecutive conference championships under the direction of Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis. The Stags are 87-12 overall during those campaigns – the fifth highest winning percentage in the nation during that span – and have earned an AP national ranking in two of the last three seasons.
