LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – After the first 18 holes of the 2026 MAAC Championship, Fairfield University Men's Golf sits tied for fifth on the 11-team leaderboard. The Stags were led in Round 1 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course by
Rasmus Ditzinger, who fired an opening-round 70.
The Stags turned in a 298 (+10) on Tuesday to share the middle of the leaderboard with Saint Peter's. Iona set the pace in Round 1 with a 289 (+1) followed three shots back by second-place Siena at 292 (+4).
Ditzinger, who was named an All-MAAC First Team honoree on Monday, fired a 70 (-2) to split second place with Jenning Oelke of Iona and Manhattan's Akshay Mandadapu. The individual pace setter is Siena's KC Nickel after recording an opening-round 69 (-3).
The next three Stags on the leaderboard are listed in rapid succession on a crowded leaderboard.
Gustaf Fehn is tied for 21st with a 75 (+3),
Peter Crowe shares 30th place with a 76 (+4), and
Tadgh Burke turned in a 77 (+5) for a stake in 37th place on the 55-golfer ledger.
Drew Southwell carded an 80 (+8) in his MAAC Championship debut.
Round 2 at the 2026 MAAC Championship will tee off tomorrow – Wednesday, April 29 – beginning at 8 a.m. The Stags will hit the course beginning at 9:30 a.m.
