SAVANNAH, Ga.-The defending MAAC Champion Fairfield University Men's Golf team opened its' 2026 Spring Schedule on Saturday afternoon at The Savannah Intercollegiate Tournament in Georgia which is being played at The Club at Savannah Harbor. The Stags, who were one of eight out of 18 teams to play all 36 holes on the day, sit in a tie for 12th place with Villanova University at +21 as team after two rounds of action. Queens (NC) University sits atop the team standings with two holes left to complete their second round at +5.
Fairfield opened play with a first round score of +6 followed by a +15 over Saturday's final 18 holes.
Round two was suspended due to darkness on Saturday, and the round will resume at 8 a.m. on Sunday and be completed prior to Sunday's final 18 holes.
Individually,
Fairfield's
Rasmus Ditzinger sits in a tie for fifth place at one under par after two rounds, as he shot an opening round -1 (71) followed by an even par 72 over the second 18 holes on Saturday.
Anthony Naples is tied for 22nd place at +2 on the day after going one under par in round one and three over par in round two.
Tadgh Burke went +7 over Saturday's opening 36 holes, as he fired an even par 72 in round one.
Playing as an independent, Fairfield's Andrew Southwell went +8 on the day, as he had an opening round +6 and lowered his total by four strokes to +2 over his final 18 holes on Saturday.
Joey Vandergeest and
Peter Crowe rounded out the Stags' team scorers over the first two rounds in Savannah, as the each posted a total of +15 over the tournament's first two rounds.
Bradley's Carter Stevenson, who completed both rounds on Saturday, sits atop the individual leader when play was halted at four under par, one shot in front of Purdue Fort Wayne's Justin Hicks, who still has one hole to play.
The completion of round two and the final 18 holes of the 2026 Savannah Intercollegiate Tournament will take place on Sunday, February 22.
